Born in 1970 in Poole, Dorset, England. Graham currently resides in Marbella, southern Spain. Left handed, with a self-taught talent and an eye for color, he started his career as a commercial artist at the age of 17, producing artwork for Walt Disney amongst other world leading companies. For the next 20 years he went on to create hun- dreds of scenes sold all over Europe, South Africa and the far and middle east. Graham also provided art for many Disney Art style guides, thus setting the standards for many other artists to follow.
After years of fine work he wanted to “let go” and express his creativity in a free and dynamic way. He chose to paint with oils on canvas. The warmth, light and richness of colors found in the Mediterranean give him the per- fect inspiration and environment to stimulate and increase his love for painting, and he is now building up a col- lection of fine paintings.
Graham’s art is filled with texture, light and romance. Throughout his career he has worked with every type of media and materials and is fully competent with all of these. This reflects in the execution of his oil paintings. His art is encompassed in tranquil water lily scenes, lively and colorful landscapes of Europe, the Mediterranean, and the mystical magic of Venice which has drawn the attention of many previous masters.
He works with a palette knife, a metallic tool with a wooden handle, not unlike a refined builders trowel and with oil paint he mixes ‘buttery lumps of color’ straight from the tube to his palette, and then on to the canvas. It takes
a skilled artist to use a palette knife and Graham has mastered this technique. This tool allows him total control of stroke, color, and texture, with subtle highlights not achievable with a brush, and this brings his originals to life.
Influenced greatly by Claude Monet and other masters of the impressionist era, he is motivated to source and encapsulate images from all over the world for you to enjoy.
Graham receives numerous private commissions, holds one man shows, exhibits in galleries including Chelsea and Tribecca, New York. He is fast becoming a much sought after name with collectors and buyers of impres- sionism and contemporary fine art. He has appeared on television, has taken part in numerous radio interviews and been featured in many publications, all of which, for many years to come, have set the stage for him to become one of the world’s recognized leaders as a palette knife and contemporary artist.
